Just because he defecated all over himself doesn't mean he wants you to notice.

Dr. Ben Carson hosts conference call to ‘clarify’ his 2nd Amendment stance

There are no "buts" or "excepts" in the 2nd Amendment, only "the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed"!

I am afraid the good Doctor has shown his true colors, and now wants to put a costume on to hide them. You either understand the 2nd and support it, or you don't. Maybe Doc. Carson should run for Governor of Maryland first, get elected and show us how much he supports the 2nd by allowing the citizens of Maryland to own full auto arms, Constitutional carry, etc....

There are many positive talents and experiences offered to the political and social realm by this man but he still needs to explain to the 99.9% of lawful semi-auto and full auto gun owners in America why their rights should be subservient to state control and restriction because 0.1% are irresponsible, emotional and uncontrollable boys in the hood who shoot first to effect their will. Please tell US Dr. Carson how disarming the good guys and gals in the city and the hoods will reduce crime by criminals who get guns and misuse them?

"NO" .... the article does nothing to clarify or ease my doubts about him. I have to wonder what kind of a jack ass we are going to end up voting for anyway. Romney/McCaine ticket "dreamteam" would suit the GOP just fine. I sometimes wonder if "Emperor" Obama will even step down in 2 years. Our Republic must first survive that long ....we shall see.

“It depends on where you live. If you live in the midst of a lot of people, and I’m afraid that that semi-automatic weapon is going to fall into the hands of a crazy person, I would rather you not have it.”

In other words "I support the 2A, just like President Obama supports the 2A"

I'd love to be able to whole-heartedly support a statesman as a political representative. Having spent a fair amount of time with "legal terms", however, Dr. Carson's latest clarification does little save to leave giant loopholes through which his statements could be interpreted.

Within most of the United States right now, it is absolutely possible to "legally buy" a fully-automatic machine gun. In order to exercise a right that "shall not be infringed", a natural person must find an old machine gun to buy (ownership of new guns is completely forbidden), obtain a signed permission slip from a police chief or sheriff (or, alternatively, create a legal trust to hold ownership of the machine gun), pay a tax, then typically wait more than a year to obtain final government approval to take possession of the purchased machine gun.

There is nothing in Dr. Carson's latest clarification that would prevent him from fully enforcing a total ban on all firearm possession... because should such "laws" somehow spring into being within the United States, no one would then have the ability to "legally buy" any firearms at all.

There are ultimately only two positions on the matter of individuals bearing weaponry:

1. An individual is completely at the mercy of another individual in regards to what, if any, weaponry the first individual is allowed to have.

2. A free individual is not limited in *any* way in regards to the keeping of arms of any type.

Dr. Carson still appears to take the first stance.

Damn, did he really say that? Rather?? I'd rather have ribeye; does that mean I can arrest and/or kill those who sell sirloin?

"I'd rather..."???? Oh for crissakes, are we in trouble.

I wonder what happens when you choose a candidate for the highest position of government based off of racial feel goodiness and hollow platitudes.

Quick! Someone make a brand so we can buy it like good little consumers and argue how our team is the best.

This man is a great neuro-surgeon. He actually operated on one of my best friends children many years, (and tears), ago. But his knowledge of the Constitution and a thorough understanding of it, is sadly lacking. He just doesn't get it. He really needed to say "I screwed up" with that other dumb statement.

Finally!
I've been warning the faux-conservatives about this ass clown for a long time.
Of course, I was ignored as the sheep followed him with their heads so far up his ass that they acted like they were sniffing the reaking buns of an angel.
The air smells so much clearer when the truth finally comes out.

The last thing this country needs is another light-weight president who does not understand or respect the US Constitution. The fact he is black only makes it worse, not better and certainly not acceptable.

M Catharine Evans and Ann Kane have done a lot of good research on Carson over at American Thinker--back when conservatives were going gaga -- seems we can vet leftists but not those so-called conservatives on our side.

It would have to get resurrected first.
