I wish I had the money to get the 20/50, with the barrels to go 20/14.5, and 20mm.

That is one of my dream guns.

Holy freaking moly. On a pickup no less. $10 for training ammo. Holy freaking moly.

Just out of curiosity, since I couldn't afford one round let alone the rifle etc, what are the "legal" requirements to purchase one of these?
Does an ATF agent come with it for 24/7 surveillance of every move you make? :)

It looks like the recoil from that would knock you into last week.
And even if the boolit missed, you'd still get pneumonia from the wind going by.

It's just a Form4, I think. That's "US WWII" 20mm, though, not "Euro". I don't think it carries out a bunch more than .50BMG, it just has more oomph left when it gets there. It's also bigger enough for a good explosive projectile (Form4 for those, too, I think). The European 20mm of WWII vintage was a much hotter round, the case is something like 60% larger, it is much longer ranged than .50BMG. The "lightness" of the old US 20mm is what produced the current US 25mm. Compare the size of a 25mm case to the 20mm. Much more propellant capacity for a modest diameter increase.

Saw a couple of these at Knob Creek the last few years. Fella had one that was a 20mm necked down to 50bmg. Bet that sucker flies!

Rifle is a "form 4" Every round is a "Form 4" and yes they do keep very close track of weapons that can take out an APC or Helo. The weapon is listed as a "cannon" by BATFE as is any weapon firing a cartrage with a projectile diameter greater than 12.7 MM or .50in.

One was designed in the 80's I think Rhodesia. Lots of great weapons designs came out of the U S embargo. They also designed the first anti mine vehicles with tapered bottoms to deflect the blast away from crew compartment. I was surprised when U S started making them and made it sound like it was something new in Iraq 2.0

How much?
Packs a bit more punch than my M24.
I think the .50 has more utility.

You're also going to need a higher magnification optic if you plan in shooting a looooong way out there...
