Way to go, Larry Pratt!

Can't find a link yet, but Larry appeared on the Piers Morgan show on CNN last night (caught the morning rebroadcast just now) and left Piers sputtering and calling Larry a "dangerous man." Outstanding!
LATER: Here's the link.

Outstanding job by Larry.
I still wish somebody would refuse to discuss gun control as a crime problem, and move the argument to the defence of liberty.

Does that English twit think that the Jews were better off disarmed in Germany? How about the people of the Soviet Union or Red China? Twenty kids were nothing in those coutries, the children died by the millions.

Mr Pratt is some kind of principled rational man, WOW!

If there was ever an example of an act of reason, I just watched it. It was most refreshing to see the act of reason against such an attempt of character assassination and twisting the truth by the press. But I'm repeating myself as it is said.

Mr. Pratt did a standup job of sticking to the facts and truth, my hats off to him. Morgan's only course was to listen to the answers to his questions, accept them in the light they where given, or go on the attack and foul himself with diatribe, invective, and just plain old nastiness when he couldn't bait Mr. Pratt into defending what doesn't need defending.

Awesome!

This is a much watch act of statist/obama regime run media agitprop that failed.
There I go again repeating myself!

Typical statist never letting reason backed up with fact get in the way of a political agenda.

There must be some kind of illogical statements & questions playbook these gun grabbers read from. One of the knee-jerk reaction questions is: "how does more guns equal . . . [insert stupid argument here]". Nobody's ever said MORE guns would solve the problem, it's a matter of WHERE they're allowed. Cops are allowed to carry (openly) on schoolgrounds - and no kid has ever grabbed one out of a cop's holster and shot himself or others. What's wrong with school employees doing the same? Keeping one in a locked but quickly accesible biometric safe under a desk would allow admin's or teachers to respond within seconds after the threat is percieved, rather than having to take minutes gathering kids into a corner and wait their turn for execution.

We wouldn't have had all these shootings that we've had over the last 50 years if schools were dangerous places for madmen to go.

Morgan is so illogical he can't counter ANY reasonable argument.

Mr. Pratt was great . I sent a check to his group . The silly speaking guy needs to get his knickers out of his crack. I guess thats why he could not shut up so that Mr. Pratt could answer him. The sheep just want us to hunker down and wait for the police to save us .

I couldn't watch the whole thing. Piers Morgan is such a douche. Ask a question then interrupt the answer when he doesn't like where it's going. Larry Pratt was handing Piers' ass to him in that debate.

Something to point out; the papers and TV have reported tht Lanza used an AR-15 HE DID NOT. He didn't even carry one. He used a Glock And a SIG. He didn' use a long gun AT ALL.

It will be interesting to see this interview side by side with what I believe will be a sellout session by the NRA of Friday.

He also caused Chris Matthews to shut up the other day by saying that we needed assault weapons to control the government. When Matthews demanded historic examples of this happening, Pratt cited the Battle of Athens.

Is this the "national conversation on gun violence" the prohibitionists keep mentioning, one of the talking points they've all taken up lately? Or is it the TV interviews of groups of people consisting of 100% gun prohibitionists? (Surprise, surprise!)

Actually I think Piers' behavior will have backfired on him. When people resort to ad hominems, it's like shouting, "I've lost the argument!"

Larry Pratt is a national treasure. What a solid professional. Wouldn't it be amazing to see politicians talk like this? I have a dream....

I dont see how larry stays so calm and nice, especially after being interuppted and called stupid

Very well done, It was nice to see an unapologetic American speak up for first principles for a change.

I wish he would have been more adamant in finishing his sentences despite p.m's insistence on controlling the narrative.

Thanks for the link, I don't watch t.v. and would have never seen it.

Why to folks bother to watch this show? The guy's a dick.

Kudos to Mr. Pratt for putting up with him.

Piers Morgan tried to use Alinsky's tactic of ridicule near the end of the interview by calling Mr. Pratt "stupid"...twice.

The only one that looked stupid was Mr.Morgan for his lack of objectivity as a reporter. I guess the more a reporter shouts and calls the other person names is the winner according to Piers.

I loved the Neville Chamberlain reference, too.

Hey I think I may have solved two problems with one solution.

Lets take all of the Highway bound tax feeders, drug warriors and confiscation artists commonly refered to as the local PD and re-assign them to the schools as security guards.

That way we provide armed security to the schools and put an end to the insane war on liberty carried out on our highways on a daily basis. I guess that wont fly over to well since kids typically only have a dollar and a half for lunch money and not SUVs that can be "seized".

What am I missing?

The Gun Free School Zones Act of 1990 (18 U.S.C. § 922(q)) states:
"(A) It shall be unlawful for any individual knowingly to possess a firearm that has moved in or that otherwise affects interstate or foreign commerce at a place that the individual knows, or has reasonable cause to believe, is a school zone.
(B) Subparagraph (A) does not apply to the possession of a firearm—
...
(ii) if the individual possessing the firearm is licensed to do so by the State in which the school zone is located or a political subdivision of the State, and the law of the State or political subdivision requires that, before an individual obtains such a license, the law enforcement authorities of the State or political subdivision verify that the individual is qualified under law to receive the license;"

Doesn't this allow a person with a concealed weapons permit to be armed on school property?

Because he's wanted for a crime in Britain

that creep p.m. lied about gun crime because europe has more per capita gun crime than we do.our murder rate is high because of the liberal created urban maggots in our cities like chicago and d.c.those cities with gun control have the higher murder rate than those cities with no gun control.

Because he loves our money. The tax rate in GB is somewhere around 70+%

So Piers Morgan is advocating violation of the civil rights of U.S. citizens? Perhaps it is time to revoke the work visa that allows him to work in the U.S. and promptly deport him. That sounds like a reasonable national discussion we need to have. After all, the First Amendment does not protect the right to falsely yell "Fire!" in a crowded theater to incite a panic.

In my collection I have a Heckler & Koch P-7 pistol which has squeeze grip safety. To fire this pistol I need to squeeze the front of the grip with 3 of my fingers before I can squeeze the trigger with my index finger. Extremly safe firearm and as I recall, one was once used in a suicide and some "expert" testified that the squeeze grip feature meant that it was not possible to use to shoot oneself. This is not a "Saturday Night Special" by any means and is the most accurate handgun I own and will NEVER turn it in to anyone for any reason whatsoever. It is a TOOL which can be used for many purposes, whether good or bad but it is a tool, not some EVIL thing. If some NIMROD wants to TAKE it, the only thing I can say is "From my cold dead hands".

A concealed carry permit allows one to carry or have a firearm in possession in a school zone, but not in the school itself.

As the law is written it is illegal to drive through a school zone with a firearm in your vehicle.

Let's keep working it though. I would like to put together a volunteer corps (not corpse) of Concealed Carry License holders to spend some time at schools walking with kids to class, picking up trash, escorting vistors to the correct classroom to visit with teachers and help with whatever task may come up that the can make themselves useful with.

Very low key individuals that are willing to go above and beyond with their training.

rjd

Meibanfa,

922(q) does not define "school zone" or "school". Nevertheless, 921(a) defines both terms:
(25) The term “school zone” means—
(A) in, or on the grounds of, a public, parochial or private school; or
(B) within a distance of 1,000 feet from the grounds of a public, parochial or private school.
(26) The term “school” means a school which provides elementary or secondary education, as determined under State law.

That said, I was missing some: state law. In my state, a person legally permitted to carry a concealed weapon may not do so at a school. Terribly sad.

Best regards,

Doug

It is obvious to me that these stasis are more interested in their agendas than the lives of any number of children. Arming teachers works, look at Israel.
