Kurt Hofmann: Printing guns is far from only way to bust a 'government monopoly on force'

Liberty exists for only as long as the citizenry has the unstoppable power to enforce its will on the government. When the people can acquire the means of enforcing that will only through the relatively small number of manufacturers and the retail chain, the government can at any time it chooses choke off that supply.

"If it ever comes to the point we have to use the means described above I'm sure that the Government will make sure it has something built into the machine that won't allow it to make firearms."

If someone can figure a way to put that prohibitive "something" in I'm quite sure someone else can figure a way to take said prohibitions back out.

And when the proverbial push comes to the proverbial shove, the firearm shown was manufactured by the thousands many years before CAD/CAM was even a dream in a SciFi story and can therefore be made in similar quantities using a 1940's Bridgeport.

Government agencies have sent enough signals, both overt and covert, that they are prepping for war. Buy something substantial and a back-up now ! Then, when they make their move for a tyrannical police state, let your enemies be your re-supply system, Viet-Cong style.

I have been mugged at gunpoint once and I have had my house burglarized twice.

The ONLY 911 call I will ever make if I catch a home invader in my home will be...

"Come pick up this lifeless lump of shit on the floor of my house."

A sten can be made with hand tools. As hundreds of them were in Warsaw. If people have the will to fight, no law, no army can disarm them.

I think the biggest problem/obstacle for a small outfit woulde be producing a rifled barrel

You can build a usable lathe with a couple of drills, and basic tools. You can shape the metal with files, vice grips, and screw to adjust height.
You can case harden the metal in a barbegue, with charcoal, and an oil.
You can rearm primers, make powder, and even make projectiles with things bought at a good hardware store, and any china-Mart type store.
You can do most of that legally today.
The knowledge is more important, than the tools.

Oh, and as for the CNC part:

Don't just look at the router tables, the 400+ oz-in motors are what you need for making a real mill or lathe CNC.
